Why Choose This Construction Management Program?

Cal State East Bay serves Bay Area students, especially those already working, who want a low-cost construction management bachelor’s or master’s close to home.

Working students: Classes scheduled mainly at convenient times, plus available internship credit, suit students who want to keep a construction job while studying.

Codes, BIM, and sustainability: Required courses in building codes and commissioning, BIM, and green building prepare graduates for owner-side, inspection, and preconstruction roles as well as contractor work.

Accreditation trade-off: Students who want an ACCE-accredited degree should weigh East Bay against CSU Long Beach, Chico State, or Fresno State, all priced within a few thousand dollars.

Accreditation and Credentials

California State University, East Bay is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, which supports federal financial aid eligibility and credit transfer.

East Bay lists the B.S. in Construction Management on its program accreditation page, but the accreditation letter could not be retrieved, so the accrediting body and dates could not be confirmed. The program does not appear on ACCE’s baccalaureate list (Rev. 2024.03.13). The catalog’s learning outcomes cover the construction management competencies used in accreditation reviews, but that alone does not establish accreditation.

Neither program embeds an industry certification. The School of Engineering also offers certificates in Construction Planning and Control and Construction Administration, which are not profiled here.
